University of Oxford offers its first free online course

Nov 15, 2016

University of Oxford offers its first free online courseOxford's first free online course will start in February 2017 and will be about economic development.

Like other 'massive open online courses' (MOOCs), the free course will include video lectures and materials. Unlike paid-for online courses from Oxford and other universities, it won't contribute to a formal qualification – although a certificate showing you completed the course will be available for a fee.

Other universities in the UK, and across the world, already offer similar courses on platforms like FutureLearn, Coursera, Udacity, EdX and iVersity.
