Survey reveals employers' favourite universities

Nov 30, 2016

Survey reveals employers' favourite universitiesCambridge, Oxford and Imperial College London are the UK's best universities to prepare you for the world of work, according to a new survey.

Times Higher Education (THE) asked employers in 20 countries to vote for universities that they thought produced graduates with good employability skills. While most of the top 10 were in the USA, several UK universities also made the list, including Manchester, Edinburgh and Birmingham.

However, the survey also found that going to a top university was less important than other skills and experiences, such as work experience and having a good academic record.

You can see the full, international rankings on the THE website. The UK universities included in the list were:

  1. University of Cambridge
  2. University of Oxford
  3. Imperial College London
  4. King’s College London
  5. University of Manchester
  6. University of Edinburgh
